Site Safety Supervisor (SSS)

Job Description:

1. To assist Safety Manager / Safety Officer on safety, Health and Environment (SHE) matters relating to the implementation of work requirement of project sites.
2. Ensure Safety, Health and Environment system compliance with government regulation and requirements.
3. Perform site inspection and audit in ensuring all safety methods and regulations are being observed.
4. To ensure all work activities, procedures, processes, etc. are implemented according to OSH Act, Factories And Machinery Act and other local authorities on safety and health matters.
5. To ensure and maintain good safety plan for the safe working environment.
6. To develop accurate OSH report and to maintain relevant safety records.
7. Planning, co-ordinate and conduct SHE activities, training and program.
8. Able to responsive to local authorities' requirements.
9. Able to identify potential risks and recommend practical and cost effective solution in safety management.
10. To ensure workers' basic amenities and welfare has been properly attended.
11. To attend all project’s Safety and Health meetings.
12. To carry out any other duties as and when instructed by the Management from time to time.

Requirement:

• Candidates must possess at least a Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Engineering (Environmental/Health/Safety) or equivalent.
• At least 2 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
• Candidate is mandatory to possess Yellow book.

Job Description:

1. Develop and implement safe lifting plans and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
2. Monitor and supervise all lifting activities, including the operation of cranes and other lifting equipment
3. Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate control measures to mitigate safety risks
4. Provide training and guidance to crane operators and other site personnel to enhance their understanding of safe lifting practices
5. Maintain accurate records of all lifting operations, including equipment inspections and maintenance
6. Collaborate with project managers and other site supervisors to coordinate lifting activities and ensure the smooth progress of construction work
7. Identify and address any issues or concerns related to lifting operations, and implement corrective actions as necessary

Requirement:

1. Minimum 5 years of experience as a Lifting Supervisor or in a similar role within the construction industry
2. Thorough understanding of lifting equipment, load calculations, and safe lifting practices
3. Excellent knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations, including OSHA and DOSH requirements
4. Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team of crane operators and other site personnel
5. Proficient in the use of site management software and tools
6. Ability to work under pressure and make timely decisions to ensure the safety and efficiency of lifting operations
