What they need

Diamond Protection delivers integrated corporate security and emergency response services across a portfolio of Victorian sites for a major multinational client — manufacturing, research and development, distribution and corporate offices. We run a 24/7 control room, staff on-site medical and first aid centres, operate emergency response vehicles, maintain fire systems and provide the first line of response to fire, hazmat, confined space, rescue, medical and security incidents.

This is not a guarding contract. We are appointing a leader for this account, and the scope of the role — and the remuneration with it — will be set to match the successful applicant's experience.

The role

You lead the security and emergency response team on the ground: emergency services officers, control room operators, security officers, concierge and medical centre staff. You are accountable for:

  • People and coverage. Rostering, relief and 100% coverage for leave and absence, with vacancies filled within the contractual window. Induction currency, performance, conduct and site familiarity.
  • Operational compliance. Daily and weekly fire system checks, evacuation panel testing, perimeter and lighting audits, monthly extinguisher audits, hot works and confined space permitting, and audits of vital safety equipment.
  • Training and competency. Running the master training schedule — monthly scenario-based drills, refresher training, quarterly competency assessment of every team member.
  • Incidents. First-line response and command until external services arrive, investigation of cause and SOP compliance, corrective action and outcome documented within seven days.
  • Contract performance. Meeting KPIs including response times and non-conformance thresholds; the monthly performance report; the monthly skills matrix; quarterly performance reviews; and readiness for the client's corporate security, loss prevention and internal audits, plus our ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 systems.
  • The client relationship. Weekly briefings, immediate escalation of any security breach, and acting as the point of contact for site management on non-emergency matters.
  • Plans and improvement. Keeping emergency response plans, SOPs, post orders, risk registers and evacuation plans current and client-approved; liaison with fire brigade, ambulance and police; and proposing improvements and technology to the client.

You will also respond and administer first aid yourself when demand requires it.

What we are looking for

  • Supervisory or management experience in security, emergency response, or a comparable operational environment — including multi-site contract management, or leadership within emergency services, defence or an industrial fire and rescue brigade
  • Current Victorian Security Licence (Private Security Act 2004) and Certificate II in Security Operations, or eligibility to obtain both before commencement
  • Advanced First Aid and Advanced Resuscitation
  • Working knowledge of AS 1851, the WorkSafe Compliance Codes for Confined Spaces and First Aid, and emergency management planning
  • Confidence with rostering and workforce planning across a 24/7, 365-day operation
  • Clear, accurate report writing — a significant part of this role is documentation that will be audited
  • Comfort responding out of hours when an incident requires it
  • Current driver's licence and the ability to travel between sites

Desirable: emergency response competencies, or the appetite to obtain them with our support — PUAFIR203A/302A, PUAFIR207A Operate Breathing Apparatus, PUASAR001A, PUASAR005A Confined Space Rescue, PUASAR026A Industrial and Domestic Rescue, PUAFIR306A/307A/308B hazardous materials, HLTSS00027 Occupational First Aid, PUASAR024A Road Crash Rescue; Certificate IV in Control Room Operations; Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; experience in automotive, heavy manufacturing or logistics.

What we offer

A competitive remuneration package commensurate with experience and the level of appointment; a long-term, secure contract with a globally recognised client; fully funded training and accreditation; uniforms, PPE and all response equipment; and genuine progression for people who perform.
