Site Structural Engineer

Minimum requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of total experience.
• Minimum 3 years of direct experience in structural strengthening and renovation works.
• Valid Qatar engineering registration/UPDA classification, where required.

Required specialist experience:

• Structural condition surveys and defect mapping.
• Concrete sounding, crack mapping and reinforcement exposure.
• Temporary propping and structural load-transfer arrangements.
• Controlled demolition and concrete breakout.
• Column and beam jacketing.
• Slab strengthening using shotcrete, steel plates or CFRP.
• Corroded reinforcement cleaning, replacement and protection.
• Chemical anchors, dowels and reinforcement connections.
• Micro-concrete, SCC, repair mortar and bonding systems.
• Structural-steel strengthening and connection works.

Key responsibilities:

• Review assessment reports, calculations, strengthening drawings and specifications.
• Verify existing dimensions, levels, reinforcement and structural conditions.
• Prepare technical queries where actual site conditions differ from the drawings.
• Supervise temporary propping before demolition or concrete removal.
• Ensure demolition is completed in the approved sequence without affecting structural stability.
• Inspect substrate preparation, concrete roughening and removal of weak concrete.
• Verify reinforcement cleaning, replacement, lap lengths and additional reinforcement.
• Check drilling locations, hole depths, cleaning procedures and chemical-anchor installation.
• Supervise concrete jacketing, shotcrete, CFRP and structural-steel strengthening.
• Coordinate inspection requests and consultant approvals.
• Monitor curing, testing and protection of completed repairs.
• Prepare daily reports, measurements, sketches, marked-up drawings and as-built records.
• Coordinate structural activities with MEP diversion and architectural reinstatement.
• Immediately report unsafe structural conditions, excessive cracking or unexpected deterioration.

Pay: QAR7,000.00 - QAR8,000.00 per month
