What they need
About Us
Playground at Niederwald is a one-of-a-kind family destination that combines a playground, coffee shop, beer and wine bar, food truck park, train rides, special events, and family experiences all in one place.
We exist to create an oasis where parents can relax, children can play, and families can make lasting memories together. Every guest who walks through our gates should feel welcomed, valued, and excited to return.
As a growing family-owned business, we believe hospitality comes first. We are not just serving coffee, beer, food, or attractions. We are creating experiences.
About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Site Supervisor who can confidently lead our team and operate any area of the business when needed.
This is not a position where you'll spend your day sitting in an office. We need a leader who enjoys being in the middle of the action, interacting with guests, supporting employees, and stepping in wherever help is needed.
One moment you may be greeting families at the front gate. The next, you might be making lattes, pouring a beer, helping conduct train rides, leading an activity, assisting with an event, or coaching team members through a busy shift.
Our ideal candidate understands that no task is beneath them and that creating an exceptional guest experience is everyone's responsibility.
What You'll Do
- Serve as the leader on duty and primary decision-maker when ownership is off-site
- Create a warm, welcoming, and family-friendly atmosphere for every guest
- Supervise, coach, and support team members across all departments
- Assist with barista operations including coffee and specialty drink service
- Assist with beer and wine service as needed
- Welcome guests, answer questions, and provide exceptional customer service
- Help lead attractions, activities, events, and train operations
- Ensure all areas remain clean, organized, safe, and inviting
- Resolve guest concerns quickly and professionally
- Support opening and closing procedures
- Jump into any role necessary to keep operations running smoothly
- Help us build and improve systems as our business continues to grow
The Ideal Candidate
- Genuinely loves working with people, families, and children
- Has an upbeat, positive, and outgoing personality
- Naturally makes others feel comfortable and welcome
- Leads by example and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves
- Thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
- Is flexible and willing to wear many hats
- Can be trusted to represent our family, our values, and our vision
- Understands that hospitality and guest experience are always the top priority
- Willing to work weekends and holidays
Bonus Qualifications
- Parent or caregiver experience
- Childcare, teaching, coaching, camp, or youth program experience
- Hospitality, restaurant, coffee shop, brewery, winery, or event experience
- Leadership or management experience
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who can become an extension of our family and help create the kind of place where families love spending time together.
