Role Description

Pragathi Civil Construction is seeking a motivated and experienced Site Supervisor / Technical Officer to join our team for ongoing road construction projects in Harangala and Watagoda/Thalawakele .

This is a full-time, site-based position for a candidate with practical experience in road construction, site supervision, labour management, material control, and daily progress reporting.

The successful candidate will supervise daily site activities, coordinate workers and subcontractors, monitor construction progress, maintain quality standards, and ensure that work is carried out in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily road construction activities and site operations.
• Manage site workers, labour teams, subcontractors, and machinery operations.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications.
• Assist with road setting out, levels, measurements, and quantity calculations.
• Monitor material usage, deliveries, wastage, and site stock.
• Prepare daily progress reports, labour records, site diaries, and material reports.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, suppliers, and other relevant parties.
• Monitor workmanship and ensure compliance with quality requirements.
• Implement site safety procedures and identify potential construction risks.
• Assist with work planning, resource allocation, and timely completion of project activities.
• Maintain accurate site documentation and provide regular progress updates to management.

Qualifications and Requirements

• 2–5 years of practical experience in road construction or civil engineering projects.
• Good knowledge of road construction methods, drainage, culverts, and related infrastructure works.
• Ability to read construction drawings and BOQs and carry out basic site measurements.
• Experience in supervising labour, managing materials, and coordinating site activities.
• Good reporting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer literacy and the ability to prepare daily reports.
• A diploma or technical qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction Technology is an advantage.
• A responsible attitude, willingness to work independently, and commitment to safety and quality.
• Ability to work full-time at project sites in Harangala and Watagoda/Thalawa.
