Site supervisor

Target Structural is looking for an experienced Site Supervisor to join our growing team.

This is a senior, hands-on role for an experienced construction professional who wants to take on greater responsibility across our projects, whilst remaining actively involved in site work.

You will carry out structural repairs and associated construction work, whilst working closely with the Site Manager to help plan and deliver projects effectively and supervising sites in their absence. You will also play an important role in site inspections, and subcontractor vetting.

The role would suit someone who has strong practical experience but is also confident looking beyond their own work, spotting issues early and helping find the best way forward.

Our projects range from residential and commercial properties to heritage buildings, so the work is varied and often technically interesting.

What you'll be doing

• Carrying out hands-on structural repairs and construction work.
• Supporting the Site Manager with planning and day-to-day project delivery.
• Inspecting sites and identifying defects, issues and additional works.
• Assisting with surveys and assessing existing site conditions.
• Helping to vet, brief and monitor subcontractors, including checking quality and progress.
• Supporting quality and health & safety checks.
• Identifying problems early and helping develop practical solutions.
• Providing guidance and support to other members of the site team.
• Taking responsibility for specific site activities and delegated work.
• Maintaining accurate site records, photographs and job books.
• Supporting the Site Manager and stepping up to lead site activities when required.

We're looking for someone who

• Has significant hands-on experience in construction, structural repair, masonry, brickwork or a related trade.
• Has the experience and confidence to take responsibility on site.
• Can work from drawings, specifications and RAMS.
• Has a good eye for quality and can identify poor workmanship or site issues.
• Is confident communicating with subcontractors, clients and colleagues.
• Has good practical problem-solving skills and can think ahead.
• Has experience with site inspections, surveying or subcontractor management, or is keen to develop these skills.
• Has a full UK driving licence.
• Is willing to travel throughout the UK and stay away regularly.

Relevant qualifications such as CSCS, First Aid, PASMA, SSSTS/SMSTS or similar are advantageous, but practical experience and the right approach are most important.

Pay: £34,000.00-£37,000.00 per year
