The role Reporting to the Project Manager , this is a 6-month opportunity (including approximately 5 months of onsite construction delivery) on a Defence project in Kalgoorlie, WA . We are open to engaging the right person through a fixed-term employment contract or contractor arrangement.

Local candidates are strongly encouraged to apply, however a 6-month relocation to Kalgoorlie may be considered for the right candidate.

You will be responsible for managing designated work fronts, coordinating subcontractors and trades, and ensuring construction activities are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the required quality standards. This role is ideal for a hands-on construction professional who enjoys leading site operations, driving programme outcomes, maintaining strong HSE and quality performance, and working collaboratively within a Defence environment.

About The Project This approximately $1.5M Defence project includes:

• Demolition and removal of an existing vehicle shed and ablutions block, including hazardous materials and asbestos removal management.
• Construction and fit-out of a new ablutions facility, including accessible amenities.
• Construction of a new vehicle shed incorporating structural steel, roofing and cladding works.
• New footings and associated works for a portable container office.
• Refurbishment works to an existing building including electrical distribution board and HVAC upgrades.
• Civil and external works including stormwater, pavements, culverts, swales and asphalt reinstatement.
• New and upgraded hydraulic, electrical, gas and mechanical services.
• Testing, commissioning, handover and defects close-out in accordance with Defence requirements.

About You You will bring:

• 6-8 years' experience within commercial construction.
• A trade qualification, relevant tertiary qualification, or equivalent industry experience.
• Proven experience supervising subcontractors and managing site operations.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, safety, quality, and programme management.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• A proactive approach to problem solving and risk management.
• High attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality outcomes
• Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, construction management systems, and site safety management platforms
