What they need

Paladin Security is Hiring a Full-Time site Trainer

Position Title: Site Trainer

Employment Type: Full-Time

Pay Rate: CA$26.00 – CA$29.00 per hour

Site: The Bow

Schedule: Primarily Monday to Friday during daytime office hours, with flexibility to work occasional evenings, nights, or weekends as needed.

Site Overview

Located in the heart of downtown Calgary, The Bow is an iconic 58-storey commercial skyscraper managed for H&R REIT. As a flagship site, it demands exceptional operational standards, high-level professional service, and a dedicated team committed to maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for tenants and visitors alike.

What You'll Be Doing

Working closely with the Site Security Manager, Assistant Site Manager, H&R REIT client representatives, and Paladin's Training Department, you will ensure employees are properly trained and prepared to meet the operational and service expectations of The Bow.

The successful candidate must be highly organized, dependable, confident facilitating training in front of groups, and capable of independently managing multiple training requirements and deadlines. They must also be able to effectively assess employee performance and identify when additional training, coaching, or development is required before an employee is ready to work independently. Your job will be:

  • Coordinating and delivering site orientation and operational training for all new team members assigned to The Bow.
  • Delivering or becoming certified to deliver key training programs, including Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB), First Aid, Use of Force, Mental Health First Aid, and Legal and Liability.
  • Conduct site orientation and ensure new hires receive a thorough understanding of site policies, procedures, expectations, and operational responsibilities.
  • Training personnel on site-specific duties, emergency response protocols, communication expectations, reporting standards, and security procedures.
  • Evaluating employee performance through written assessments, practical scenarios, direct observation, and hands-on evaluations.
  • Identifying training deficiencies and delivering constructive coaching, retraining, and follow-up support.
  • Developing, updating, and reviewing training materials, lesson plans, presentations, quizzes, scenarios, and sign-off sheets to ensure alignment with client and company standards.
  • Maintaining accurate training records, certification tracking matrices, employee files, and attendance documentation.
  • Monitoring certification expiration dates and proactively scheduling employees for required recertifications.
  • Assisting with emergency drills, tabletop exercises, and practical safety scenarios.
  • Participating in post-incident reviews to pinpoint ongoing training and development opportunities.

Must Haves

  • Valid Alberta Security License (or ability to obtain one).
  • Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent education.
  • Willingness and physical capability to complete instructor certifications and physically instruct practical training (including MOAB, Use of Force, and First Aid).
  • Strong public speaking, group facilitation, and presentation abilities.
  • Effective coaching, feedback, and employee development skills.
  • Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Flexibility to work occasional non-standard hours (evenings, nights, weekends) when operational needs require.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Prior experience in training, teaching, coaching, or leadership roles.
  • Previous experience within the security industry.

What's In It For You?

  • Competitive hourly pay rate between CA$26.00 and CA$29.00.
  • Sponsored instructor certifications in MOAB, First Aid, Use of Force, and Mental Health First Aid.
  • Predictable daytime weekday schedule with dynamic, hands-on operational work.
  • Opportunity to lead and shape the security team at one of Calgary's premier commercial landmarks.
