Site/Setting Out Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Site/Setting Out Engineer to join our dynamic construction team. Responsibilities

• Interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications to determine setting out requirements.
• Use surveying instruments such as total stations, laser levels, and theodolites to mark out positions for foundations, walls, columns, and other structural elements.
• Verify measurements regularly during construction to ensure alignment with design specifications.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, site engineers, and subcontractors to coordinate setting out activities.
• Maintain detailed records of all setting out data, measurements, and adjustments made during the project.
• Conduct quality checks on site to confirm that structures are correctly positioned before proceeding with further construction phases.
• Assist in resolving any discrepancies or issues related to site layout promptly and efficiently.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Site or Setting Out Engineer on construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of surveying techniques and the use of relevant equipment such as total stations and laser levels.
• Excellent understanding of construction drawings, plans, and technical specifications.
• Ability to interpret technical data accurately and translate it into precise physical markings on-site.
• Electrical experience is desirable to support coordination with electrical installations during setting out phases.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Relevant qualifications in civil engineering, surveying, or related fields are preferred.

Pay: £28,300.00-£57,700.00 per year
