Skid Steer Operator

Job Summary

Whistler Snow Removal Ltd. is seeking an experienced and reliable Skid Steer Operator to join our team for the upcoming winter season.

The primary responsibility of this position will be operating a skid steer for snow removal at residential and commercial properties throughout Whistler. However, the successful candidate must also be willing to assist with manual snow removal, including shovelling walkways, stairs, and entrances, when required.

This is a part-time seasonal position with the potential for full-time hours during periods of frequent or heavy snowfall. Hours will vary depending on weather conditions, with shifts starting as early as 4:00 AM.

We offer guaranteed pay throughout the winter season, even during periods of little or no snowfall, providing income stability while offering opportunities for additional hours when weather conditions demand it.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate a skid steer for snow removal at commercial and residential properties.
• Clear parking lots, driveways, roadways, and other designated areas.
• Assist with manual snow removal, including shovelling sidewalks, stairs, entrances, and other areas when needed.
• Operate snow removal attachments and equipment safely and effectively.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance.
• Respond to snowfall events, including early morning shifts starting as early as 4:00 AM.
• Work independently and collaboratively with other team members to complete assigned routes.
• Follow established safety procedures and maintain a high standard of work.

Experience & Requirements

• Previous skid steer operating experience is required.
• Experience operating skid steers in snow removal applications is considered a strong asset.
• Must be willing and physically capable of performing manual snow removal when required.
• Must be available for early morning shifts, including starts as early as 4:00 AM.
• Must have a flexible schedule and be available to work weekends and holidays when snowfall requires it.
• Ability to work outdoors in winter weather conditions.
• Valid driver's licence required.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work independently.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and experience maintaining equipment are assets.
