Skilled Construction Laborer

Role Description The Labor Hand role is a full-time, on-site position based around Amarillo, TX. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing general labor tasks such as lifting, carrying, and moving materials, assisting machine operators and welders, and helping set up and clean up job sites. The role may involve shoveling, raking, basic hand tool use, and supporting excavation or dirt work activities under supervision. The Labor Hand is expected to follow all safety guidelines, use personal protective equipment, and report any hazards or issues to supervisors. This position requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions and collaborating closely with other crew members to complete assigned tasks efficiently.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and working outdoors in diverse weather conditions.
• Basic familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and construction or dirt work tasks, or willingness to learn on the job.
• Commitment to safety practices, including following instructions, using PPE, and adhering to company and site-specific safety procedures.
• Reliable attendance, strong work ethic, and ability to work as part of a team under the direction of supervisors and experienced crew members.
• Effective communication skills, including the ability to ask questions, follow verbal and written instructions, and report concerns promptly.
• Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation to and from the Amarillo, TX work site preferred.
• Previous experience in construction, dirt work, welding support, or related fields is beneficial but not required.

Additional Requirements

• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening. Random drug testing may be required while employed.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be able to work Monday-Friday, with overtime and occasional Saturdays as needed. Typical work weeks are 50-60 hours.
• Must be willing to travel and stay overnight when required for projects.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from job sites/lay down yards.
• Must be able to lift 75-100 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
