Job Description

Big Mike’s Handyman & Repair, LLC is seeking an experienced and dependable Skilled Construction Laborer to join our growing team.

We specialize in residential remodeling, renovations, and home repairs. We are looking for a motivated individual with hands-on construction experience who takes pride in their work and can complete assigned tasks independently with minimal supervision.

The ideal candidate will have experience in multiple areas of residential construction, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to maintain high-quality workmanship while working efficiently.

Responsibilities

Perform residential remodeling, renovation, and general construction work.

Complete drywall installation, repairs, finishing, and texture matching.

Perform interior and exterior painting.

Install trim, baseboards, doors, and other finish carpentry.

Install flooring, including luxury vinyl plank (LVP) and laminate.

Assist with kitchen and bathroom remodeling projects.

Perform general carpentry, framing, and miscellaneous home repairs.

Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.

Troubleshoot job-site issues and identify appropriate solutions.

Complete assigned projects independently or as part of a team.

Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.

Communicate professionally with homeowners and team members.

Ensure all work meets company quality standards.

Qualifications

Required:

Minimum 2 years of hands-on residential construction or remodeling experience.

Experience performing multiple types of construction and repair work.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Proficiency with common hand and power tools.

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Dependable, punctual, and professional.

Reliable transportation to various job sites.

Valid driver’s license.

Ability to perform physically demanding construction work.

Preferred:

Experience in drywall, painting, flooring, tile, and finish carpentry.

Experience completing residential projects from start to finish.

Ownership of basic hand tools.

Ability to provide references and examples of previous work.

Compensation

$20.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on experience, skill level, and demonstrated abilities.

Duties

• Assist with reading and interpreting construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure accurate implementation of project specifications
• Perform heavy lifting and manual handling of materials, equipment, and tools necessary for construction activities
• Implement erosion control measures to protect the site and surrounding environment during construction phases
• Operate power tools and equipment safely and efficiently, including repair and maintenance as needed
• Follow strict safety regulations, including OSHA standards, respiratory protection protocols, climbing safety procedures, and workplace safety guidelines
• Support the installation of structural components, formwork, and other building elements according to specifications
• Conduct erosion control activities and assist with site cleanup to maintain a safe and organized work environment
• Assist with equipment setup, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and minor repairs to ensure continuous workflow
• Follow all safety regulations related to heavy lifting, manual handling, climbing, respiratory protection, and industrial construction practices

Experience

• Proven experience in industrial or large-scale construction environments with a focus on safety compliance
• Strong understanding of blueprint reading, technical drawings interpretation, and construction plans
• Hands-on experience with power tools and equipment repair in a construction setting
• Knowledge of erosion control techniques and environmental protection measures during construction projects
• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and implementation of workplace safety regulations
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper manual handling techniques
• Prior experience working at heights involving climbing or working on scaffolding is preferred
• Demonstrated mechanical knowledge related to construction tools and machinery
