Skilled Laborer/Carpenter

Duties

• Perform all jobs assigned with the highest quality and without waste of materials or time.
• Responsible for being prompt and prepared for the work day.
• Maintain personal tools and company equipment and vehicles, and inform supervisor when any company assets are damaged or broken.
• Assist with exterior custom trim items such as, but not limited to, porch ceilings, wood columns and beams, shutters, exterior wood accents, etc. on job as assigned. Also, assist with porch decking and railing installs to code and specifications.
• Assist Superintendent with rough framing quality checks/corrections and framing punch items as needed for each job.
• Assist Superintendent in completing 1-year warranty/service items as provided by the Warranty Manager, touch-up items, and final completion of home during warranty period.
• Maintain a mutually beneficial and professional relationship with home-owners, trade associates, manufacturers, inspectors, and neighbors.
• Continuously monitor all work by subs for quality and completion in accordance with plans and specifications and report inconsistences to Superintendent.
• Familiarize, comprehend, and comply with Mesa Wood Ltd. construction techniques, specifications, and performance guidelines.
• Always maintain a clean, orderly, and safe jobsite and require trade associates to do that same when onsite for warranty work.
• Assist Outside Lead with foundation layout and footer installation when required.
• Performs other production related tasks as assigned by the VP of Production and Superintendent.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in construction with a focus on carpentry or woodworking; residential carpentry experience preferred
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings accurately
• Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools for woodworking and construction tasks
• Knowledge of construction materials including wood, siding materials, drywall, and other building supplies
• Familiarity with construction site safety standards and procedures for power tools and heavy lifting
• Strong problem-solving skills with an eye for detail; ability to follow detailed instructions and technical plans

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
