Skilled Stainless Steel Fabricator

Are you an experienced stainless steel fabricator with excellent TIG welding skills and a passion for precision workmanship?

We are looking for a highly skilled Stainless Steel Fabricator / TIG Welder to join our production team. We’re seeking someone who understands stainless steel fabrication inside and out, takes pride in producing exceptional-quality finishes and can confidently work from technical drawings to manufacture components to exact specifications.

This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who has a strong background in stainless steel fabrication, precision TIG welding, accurate assembly and finishing.

The Role

You will be responsible for the fabrication and manufacture of stainless steel components and assemblies, ensuring every job is completed accurately, efficiently and to the highest possible standard.

Stainless steel experience is essential, particularly where appearance, weld quality and the finished surface are critical.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out high-quality TIG welding on stainless steel, producing clean, consistent and visually excellent welds.
• Fabricate stainless steel components and assemblies from technical and fabrication drawings.
• Accurately measure, mark out, cut, prepare and assemble stainless steel materials.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances and fabrication specifications.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of stainless steel fabrication techniques and material handling.
• Prepare joints and components correctly to achieve accurate fit-up and high-quality welds.
• Produce accurate fabrications with minimal distortion and rework.
• Grind, dress, linish and polish stainless steel to achieve the required surface finish.
• Maintain the quality and appearance of stainless steel throughout fabrication, avoiding scratches, contamination and unnecessary marking.
• Inspect finished components to ensure dimensional accuracy, structural integrity and excellent workmanship.
• Identify and resolve fabrication issues while raising any drawing discrepancies or technical concerns with management.
• Safely operate fabrication machinery, grinders, drills, saws and other workshop equipment.
• Work efficiently to production schedules without compromising quality.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.

We want an experienced fabricator who can demonstrate genuine stainless steel fabrication skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce work to a consistently high standard.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Proven experience in stainless steel fabrication.
• Strong TIG welding skills on stainless steel.
• Ability to fabricate components and assemblies accurately from technical drawings.
• Excellent measuring, marking-out, cutting and fitting skills.
• Strong understanding of fabrication methods, joint preparation and welding processes.
• Experience grinding, linishing, dressing and polishing stainless steel.
• Ability to achieve high-quality visible welds and professional finished surfaces.
• Understanding of dimensional accuracy, tolerances and quality control.
• Good knowledge of workshop tools, machinery and safe working practices.
• A meticulous approach to workmanship, accuracy and material care.
• Ability to work independently, manage assigned jobs and contribute effectively to a production team.

Desirable Experience

• MIG welding experience.
• Experience manufacturing high-quality architectural or bespoke stainless steel products.
• Experience with precision fabrication and close tolerances.
• Knowledge of stainless steel grades, material properties and appropriate fabrication practices.
• Experience working within an ISO 9001 quality management system.
• Relevant welding or fabrication qualifications.

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday: 6:30 am – 3:45 pm
Friday: 6:30 am – 3:00 pm

Total: 43 hours per week, including scheduled breaks.

Overtime may be available to meet business requirements and is paid at time and a half in accordance with company policy.
