Skilled Welder/Fitter - Structural steel erector / Decker

We are seeking a skilled, safety-focused professional to join our team in a hands-on role supporting structural steel fabrication, fitting, and erection projects. The ideal candidate brings strong technical ability, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality workmanship in a fast-paced construction or industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and project specifications to complete assigned work accurately.
• Measure, cut, fit, align, and assemble structural steel components according to project requirements.
• Perform welding and fabrication tasks using appropriate tools, equipment, and techniques.
• Assist with the erection, placement, and secure installation of structural steel members on site.
• Use rigging, lifting, and handling equipment safely and effectively during material movement and installation.
• Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards, dimensional accuracy, and project specifications.
• Collaborate with supervisors, project teams, and other trades to support efficient workflow and job completion.
• Follow all site safety procedures, wear required personal protective equipment, and maintain a clean work area.
• Identify and report equipment issues, material concerns, or jobsite hazards in a timely manner.
• Decking knowledge

Qualifications

• Proven experience in welding, fitting, decking, and structural steel erection.
• Ability to read and work from structural drawings, weld symbols, and measuring tools.
• Strong knowledge of steel fabrication and installation methods.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment in a professional setting.
• Familiarity with safe rigging and lifting practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be able to travel
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to quality.
• Physical ability to perform demanding work in indoor and outdoor environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant welding certifications or trade credentials.
• Experience working on commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of industry safety standards and best practices.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, travel required.
