Skin Cancer / General Practitioner- EPPING

About the role

ForHealth Group is seeking a skilled and compassionate Skin Cancer / General Practitioner to join our medical team in Epping, VIC 3076. This is a part-time position that offers the flexibility to balance professional commitments with personal priorities. In this role, you will provide comprehensive general practice services with a specialisation in skin cancer diagnosis, treatment and prevention. You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality healthcare to our diverse patient population, combining general medical expertise with specialised dermatological and skin cancer knowledge to make a meaningful difference in patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Conducting full-skin examinations and providing expert assessment, diagnosis and management of skin lesions and suspected skin cancers
• Performing minor surgical procedures, including skin biopsies and lesion removals, utilising appropriate techniques and safety protocols
• Providing preventative care advice and skin cancer screening services to patients at risk
• Managing general practice consultations, including acute and chronic disease management, health maintenance and preventative medicine
• Maintaining accurate and timely medical records and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements
• Collaborating with dermatologists and other specialists when complex cases require secondary referral or additional expertise
• Contributing to the development and implementation of clinical protocols and best practices within the practice
• Providing patient education on skin health, sun safety and the importance of early detection
• Participating in clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives and continuing professional development

What we're looking for

• Current registration with the Australian Medical Board and AHPRA as a General Practitioner
• Valid Australian General Practice training qualification (FRACGP or equivalent)
• Demonstrated expertise or specialised training in skin cancer diagnosis and management
• Proficiency in minor surgical procedures and dermatological techniques
• Strong clinical knowledge of melanoma, non-melanoma skin cancers and benign skin lesions
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex medical information in an accessible manner to patients
• High level of clinical competence, attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment
• Current vaccination status and commitment to infection control standards
• Experience with electronic medical records and practice management systems
• Preferred: Advanced training or certificate qualifications in dermatology or skin cancer medicine
