Simpsons Skoda is one of the region’s most successful family-owned motor retailers, and as our business continues to grow, we are looking to strengthen our Aftersales team with an experienced VWG-accredited Master Technician / High Voltage Expert (HVE).

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled technician who wants to work with the latest Volkswagen Group technology, including electric and high-voltage vehicles, while continuing to develop their technical expertise within the VWG Accreditation Programme.

You will play a key role within our workshop, diagnosing complex faults, supporting other technicians and ensuring every vehicle is repaired safely, efficiently and to the highest manufacturer standards.

The role

As a Master Technician / HVE, you will:

  • Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical and high-voltage vehicle faults.
  • Carry out servicing, maintenance, warranty repairs and general vehicle repairs to manufacturer standards.
  • Undertake diagnostic and technical work on electric and high-voltage vehicles within your level of accreditation.
  • Road test vehicles and accurately diagnose reported faults.
  • Use VWG diagnostic equipment, technical literature and manufacturer information systems.
  • Ensure repairs are completed safely, efficiently and within manufacturer repair times wherever possible.
  • Provide technical advice, guidance and support to other technicians within the workshop.
  • Act as a mentor to developing technicians and support the continued improvement of technical standards across the team.
  • Identify additional work requirements and report these accurately to the Workshop Controller or Aftersales Manager.
  • Ensure all work, parts, materials and consumables are accurately recorded.
  • Liaise directly with customers when technical explanation or support is required.
  • Maintain the highest standards of vehicle care, workshop safety and housekeeping.
  • Keep your technical knowledge and VWG accreditations up to date through ongoing manufacturer training.

About you

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a VWG Brand Accredited Master Technician or is currently working towards Master Technician accreditation.
  • Holds the appropriate VWG High Voltage / HVE accreditation.
  • Has completed a recognised vehicle technician apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
  • Has extensive experience in vehicle diagnostics, servicing and repair.
  • Has strong electrical and diagnostic fault-finding skills.
  • Is confident working with modern vehicle technology, including hybrid and electric vehicles.
  • Takes pride in producing consistently high-quality work.
  • Can support and mentor other members of the workshop team.
  • Understands the importance of customer satisfaction and first-time repair quality.
  • Holds a full UK driving licence.

Why Simpsons Skoda?

We are a family-owned business that believes our continued success depends on investing in our people. For an experienced Master Technician and High Voltage Expert, we offer the opportunity to work at the forefront of changing automotive technology while remaining part of a supportive, established dealership team.
