Sleep Technician

About the role

Carries out the orders and procedures and treatment modalities prescribed by the licensed physician to their patients. The role involves performing sleep studies, monitoring patients, analyzing data, and coordinating with medical staff in a Sleep Laboratory setting.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assesses patient's general medical condition, provides information to the patient about the procedure and expected benefits and risks, and gives proper instructions to patients prior to the procedure
• Accommodates patient needs before, during, and after the procedure
• Performs sleep study as prescribed by a licensed physician and observes and/or monitors physical signs and symptoms, general behavior, and general physical response to polysomnographic evaluation
• Analyzes and scores data that may be used by a licensed physician in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep and wake disorders
• Performs prolonged 12 to 24-hour EEG as prescribed by a licensed physician
• Coordinates with doctors and/or other units the patient's condition as needed
• Encodes patient information, charges the procedures and prepares results
• Prepares patient's record and laboratory documents
• Ensures that all equipment and accessories are functioning properly and the materials and supplies needed in the procedure are available
• Adheres to proper safety precautions and infection and prevention control

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Allied Health preferably BS in Respiratory Therapy
• At least 1 to 2 years of relevant work experience
• With training in sleep study procedure
• Two (2) Full-Time positions available
