What they need

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Support Worker who can communicate confidently in both Slovak and English.

The successful candidate will support individuals with mental health and/or additional care needs within a supported-living environment. Slovak-language skills are required to help a person we support understand information, communicate their needs and remain actively involved in decisions about their care.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide person-centred support in accordance with individual care plans.
  • Communicate effectively with people using both Slovak and English.
  • Support individuals with daily living skills, appointments, activities and community access.
  • Promote independence, choice, dignity and wellbeing.
  • Provide emotional support and encourage progress towards recovery goals.
  • Support with medication in line with company policies and training.
  • Maintain accurate care notes, incident reports and other records.
  • Identify and report safeguarding concerns appropriately.
  • Work professionally with colleagues, families and external professionals.
  • Follow risk assessments, confidentiality requirements and organisational procedures.

Essential requirements

  • Able to speak, read and understand Slovak and English to a suitable professional standard.
  • Caring, patient and respectful approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable, responsible and able to work as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, which may include evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
  • Understanding of professional boundaries and confidentiality.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS check and all required training.

Previous experience in care or supported living is desirable, but not essential, as training and ongoing support will be provided.

What we offer

  • Comprehensive induction and ongoing training.
  • Supportive management and team environment.
  • Opportunities for professional development.
  • Meaningful work that makes a genuine difference.

We are committed to safeguarding the people we support. Appointment will be subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks, including an enhanced DBS check, references and confirmation of the right to work in the UK.

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from suitably qualified candidates from all backgrounds.
