Small Engine Mechanic

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Small Engine Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engine repair, equipment maintenance, and mechanical troubleshooting. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining small engines and related equipment, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction. Experience with diesel engines, automotive repair, and electrical systems is highly desirable. The technician will work with various tools and schematics to deliver high-quality service in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair small engines, including lawnmowers, generators, and other outdoor power equipment
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tune-ups, and part replacements
• Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues
• Repair diesel engines, generators, and other heavy equipment as needed
• Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques to complete repairs
• Conduct vehicle maintenance tasks when required
• Assist customers with technical questions and provide excellent customer service
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency
• Keep detailed records of repairs performed and parts used

Skills

• Proven dealership or service technician experience with small engines or outdoor power equipment
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret schematics and technical diagrams
• Experience repairing diesel engines, generators, and automotive systems
• Proficiency with electrical systems and the use of hand tools and power tools
• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures and equipment repair techniques
• Ability to lift heavy components safely and perform heavy lifting tasks regularly
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information effectively
• Sales experience is advantageous for upselling parts or services when appropriate
