Small Engine Mechanic

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Small Engine Mechanic to join our dynamic service team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of small engines and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction. Your expertise will help keep outdoor power equipment, lawnmowers, generators, and other machinery running smoothly. Duties

• Diagnose issues on small engines, including lawnmowers, trimmers, chainsaws, and generators using schematics and technical manuals
• Perform repairs on various equipment such as lawn tractors, zero turns, push and self propel mowers, 2 cycle handheld equipment with precision and attention to detail
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other mechanical tools to complete repairs efficiently
• Conduct routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, belt replacements, spark plug replacements, and electrical system checks
• Interpret schematics and technical diagrams to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems effectively
• Repair and service equipment or similar machinery as needed
• Assist customers with product recommendations, maintenance tips, and sales inquiries to enhance their ownership experience

Experience

• Proven experience or service technician background in small engine repair or related fields
• Demonstrated mechanic experience with a strong understanding of electrical systems, schematics, and engine repair
• Hands-on experience with small engine repair, equipment repair, generator repair, and 2 cycle maintenance
• Familiarity with electrical work including diagnostics and troubleshooting
• Ability to lift heavy equipment safely during repairs or installations while adhering to safety protocols
• Knowledge of heavy lifting techniques combined with the use of hand tools and power tools for complex repairs
• Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with service manager and provide excellent support during service interactions
