Small Engine Mechanic

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Small Engine Mechanic to join our team, providing expert repair and maintenance services for a variety of small engines, including lawnmowers, generators, and other outdoor power equipment, as well as off road vehicles. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with electrical systems, and proficiency with hand and power tools. Duties

• Diagnose and repair small engines, including troubleshooting electrical and mechanical problems
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tune-ups, and part replacements
• Utilize schematics and technical manuals to identify issues and execute repairs effectively
• Operate various hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to complete repairs
• Conduct heavy lifting of engine components and equipment parts safely
• Work with automotive repair techniques when applicable to small engine systems
• Maintain detailed records of repairs performed and parts used
• Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance needs clearly
• Assist in sales by recommending appropriate parts or services to customers when needed
• Follow safety protocols diligently during all repair activities

Experience

• Proven mechanic experience with small engines or related machinery is required
• Knowledge of welding, electrical systems, and schematics is highly desirable
• Familiarity with automotive repair techniques enhances the ability to diagnose complex issues
• Strong mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, and schematics
• Customer service skills to effectively communicate with clients about repairs and maintenance needs
• Previous experience in sales or providing technical advice is beneficial but not mandatory

Pay: $20.00-$28.00 per hour
