Small Engine Mechanic / Technician

We are looking for a dependable, motivated, and mechanically inclined individual who enjoys working with their hands and takes pride in quality workmanship.

In this position, you will diagnose, service, maintain, and repair a variety of outdoor power equipment powered by Honda, Briggs & Stratton, Kawasaki, and Kohler engines, as well as STIHL chainsaws and trimmers, Bobcat zero-turn mowers, compaction equipment, SCAG zero-turn mowers, lawn mowers, snowblowers, and other small-engine equipment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair 2-cycle and 4-cycle gasoline engines.
• Service and repair Honda, Briggs & Stratton, Kawasaki, and Kohler engines.
• Repair lawn mowers, zero-turn mowers, chainsaws, trimmers, snowblowers, and other outdoor power equipment.
• Troubleshoot fuel systems, carburetors, electrical systems, ignition systems, starters, and mechanical issues.
• Diagnose and repair engine performance problems, including starting issues, loss of power, and overheating.
• Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, tune-ups, blade sharpening, belt replacement, and seasonal servicing.
• Identify necessary replacement parts and communicate repair needs.
• Complete work orders accurately and document repairs performed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Work efficiently while maintaining high-quality repair standards.
• Assist other service department team members as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous small engine repair or mechanical experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Honda, Briggs & Stratton, Kawasaki, and Kohler engines is a plus.
• Experience servicing STIHL, SCAG, or similar outdoor power equipment is beneficial.
• Understanding of 2-cycle and 4-cycle engine operation and repair.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical tasks associated with equipment repair.
• Willingness to learn new equipment and repair procedures.
