Small Group Personal Trainer / Coach

ABC Gym is opening in Citywest between December 2026 and January 2027, and we're hiring the coaches who'll open it.

Most gyms need someone to supervise a session. We need someone to coach one.

There's a difference. If you already know what that difference feels like, you're probably who we're looking for.

This is a rare chance to be there from day one. You'll meet the first members through the door, help shape the culture of the gym, and set the standard everyone who joins after you will follow.

Who we are

ABC Gym is a coaching-first small group personal training gym. We already have four gyms, in Lucan, Adamstown, Clane and Trim, and we're opening in Naas too.

We exist to help real adults train properly. Not for a 6 week challenge. Not for a holiday. For the next 6 years and beyond.

Our programme has been refined over twelve years. Our coaching standard is non-negotiable. Our environment is welcoming, high performance, and genuinely free of ego.

We are coached. Not supervised. That's a tagline you'll see on our wall - and a standard every coach here is expected to live up to, every single session.

What the role involves

You'll be coaching small group personal training sessions and some classes, typically up to six members per session. To start, you'll train and coach across our existing locations to learn the standard properly.

You'll be expected to:

• Know every member's name and what they're working on
• Coach start to finish, not stand at the front and count reps
• Deliver the programme with energy and consistency across a full day of sessions
• Contribute to a team that holds a high standard and genuinely has each other's backs
• Progress members over months and years, not just get them through today's session

Who we're looking for

We hire for character first. Skills can be developed. Integrity, empathy and genuine care for people cannot.

You'll be a good fit if:

• You genuinely care about the person in front of you, not just the session
• You hold your standard when nobody is watching
• You're a team player in the truest sense. You have your colleagues' backs without being asked
• You're open to feedback and you act on it
• You find energy in coaching people, not just training yourself
• You understand that a nervous first timer and a three year member both deserve your full attention
• You want to help build something, not just join something already built

What we offer

• Starting salary from €30,000, depending on experience and fit
• A structured onboarding process so you're set up to succeed, not thrown in at the deep end
• Weekly team meetings and ongoing feedback
• A coaching environment with a programme, a system, and a standard you can be proud of
• The opportunity to be part of a growing brand.
• A team of good people who take their work seriously and genuinely enjoy what they do
