Small Parts Electronic Assembler:

Assembly of Electronic and Electromagnetic devices designed primarily for the purpose of controlling wind flow in the pipe organ. Devices are small in size with an average weight of 6 oz. or less and are assembled in batches of 20 to 150 units. In addition to product assembly, various pre-assembly tasks are required such as application of gaskets, operation of coil-winding machinery and similar functions. All duties and tasks must be performed in a safe manner and in compliance with OSI safety rules and procedures.

Work Requirements:

Job entails assembly of small electronic and electro-magnetic devices, as described above, using various hand tools including screwdrivers, pliers, tweezers and similar items. Job also requires the use of hand-held power tools and some machine operation. Daily tasks include the handling of small wires and electronic components. Dexterity and fine motor skills are required.

Experience / Education Requirements:

All technical training is provided by OSI for assembly work in the Magnet Department. Prior experience in small parts and electronic assembly is helpful. In addition, manual dexterity, attention to detail and an ability to work side by side with co-workers is beneficial.
