Smallgoods Maker – 2 Full-Time Positions

About Us

B Re & Sons is a family-owned smallgoods manufacturing business based in Malaga, Western Australia. We manufacture a range of quality bacon, ham, sausages and continental smallgoods.

Due to ongoing production requirements, we are seeking two experienced Smallgoods Makers to join our production team on a full-time basis.

The role includes a competitive salary plus superannuation.

About the Role

The successful applicants will be responsible for the preparation, production and processing of a range of smallgoods and meat products while maintaining high standards of product quality, food safety, hygiene and workplace safety.

Key Duties

Duties will include:

• preparing meat for smallgoods production;
• manufacturing sausages, bacon, ham, cured meats and other smallgoods products;
• preparing ingredients, seasonings, cures and other materials used in smallgoods manufacturing;
• mixing, mincing, filling, curing, cooking and processing products in accordance with recipes and production specifications;
• trimming, cutting, portioning and preparing meat as required;
• operating smallgoods manufacturing and meat-processing equipment;
• monitoring product quality, consistency and presentation;
• following recipes, production specifications and manufacturing procedures;
• maintaining food-safety, hygiene and sanitation requirements;
• cleaning and maintaining equipment and production areas;
• complying with workplace health and safety requirements; and
• assisting with general meat-preparation and production activities as required.

Skills and Experience

Applicants should have demonstrated commercial experience in smallgoods manufacturing, meat processing or a closely related food-production environment.

The successful applicants should demonstrate:

• practical experience in smallgoods production;
• knowledge of smallgoods manufacturing and meat-processing methods;
• experience preparing and processing meat products;
• sound knife-handling, trimming and meat-preparation skills;
• knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements;
• ability to operate relevant production and meat-processing equipment;
• ability to follow recipes and product specifications;
• good attention to quality and detail;
• ability to work independently and as part of a small production team; and
• relevant trade qualifications and/or substantial demonstrated industry experience.
• Experience in boning and other butcher-related meat preparation would be advantageous but is not essential.

Work Conditions

The role involves:

• working in a chilled production environment;
• some manual handling and heavy lifting; and
• early morning starts.

Pay: $50.00 – $55.00 per hour
