Smart AS400 Developer

About the role

Polisy Asia Developer to produce scalable software solutions and to be part of a cross-functional team that is responsible for the software development life cycle, from conception to deployment. As a Polisy Asia Developer, you should be comfortable and proficient in Smart/400, Cobol/400 development, and understand insurance workflows, processes and products.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the development team to understand project requirements and objectives
• Write clean, maintainable code following coding standards and best practices
• Perform unit testing and debugging of SMART programs
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to SMART & CHUBB coding standards
• Contribute to technical documentation, including system design, specifications, and user guides
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving software defects or issues
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers and testers, to deliver high-quality software solutions
• Change management and change control review to ensure adherence to BNM & audit requirements as well as Chubb APAC practices
• Ensure quality, performance and security of the product

About you

• A recognised degree in Computer Science or similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience
• Overall 3+ years of experience in System development in SMART400 in various modules in Policy/Asia
• Knowledge of general insurance business with working knowledge of Policy/Asia, integration and software development lifecycle
• Experience with insurance industry practices/regulations and dealing with regulators and auditors
• Familiar with WRKQRY, Query/400, SQL/400, SQL and BI tool
• Experience in preparing test case document and Unit test plan
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills along with job planning and organization skills
