Smart Home Security Technician

Wired Low Voltage Inc. is a growing low-voltage integration company specializing in structured cabling, security systems, and audio-video installations for high-end residential and commercial projects in San Diego. Our work ranges from smart home automation and CCTV systems to whole-house audio, fiber optics, and network infrastructure.

We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Residential Technician to join our team — someone who takes pride in clean, organized installs and high-quality craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test Cat6/Cat6A, coax, and low-voltage cabling for residential systems
• Mount and configure security cameras, NVRs, and access control devices
• Install and calibrate TVs, speakers, amplifiers, and home theater systems
• Perform rack builds, patch panel terminations, and labeling
• Set up Wi-Fi networks and smart home integrations (UniFi, Control4, etc.)
• Conduct pre-wire, trim-out, and final installation phases
• Troubleshoot and service existing low-voltage systems
• Maintain neat cable management, accurate documentation, and jobsite professionalism

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in low-voltage or structured cabling (residential preferred)
• Solid understanding of wiring standards (TIA/EIA) and proper termination methods
• Experience with CCTV, AV, or network equipment installation
• Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and floor plans
• Comfortable working on ladders, attics, and construction sites
• Must have reliable transportation and basic hand tools
• Clean and professional appearance, strong communication skills
• Preferred: Experience with UniFi, Sonos, Control4, Lutron, or similar systems

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour

Work Location: On the road
