About us

Decus Engineering is a diverse Structural, Mechanical and Piping (SMP) contractor delivering fabrication and construction services to clients across the resources, mining, minerals processing and infrastructure sectors.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced SMP Site Manager to join our team and take responsibility for the successful delivery of construction projects on client sites throughout Western Australia.

About the role

This is a hands-on site leadership role where you will be the senior Decus representative on site and the face of Decus Engineering to the client.

You will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and coordination of SMP construction activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, to the required quality and in accordance with project schedules and contractual requirements.

You will lead Decus work crews and subcontractors, coordinate with the client and other contractors, and ensure the site team has the resources, information and support required to successfully deliver the works.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary on-site representative for Decus and the key interface with the client.
• Build and maintain strong professional relationships with the client, subcontractors and other project stakeholders.
• Manage, supervise and coordinate Decus site personnel, work crews and subcontractors.
• Support planning, forecasting, variations and cost control.
• Promote a positive safety culture and high standards of workmanship, productivity and professional conduct.

About You

• Minimum 5 years experience in SMP construction, preferably within mining, minerals processing, resources or heavy industrial projects.
• Demonstrated experience as a Site Manager, Construction Manager, Superintendent or Senior Supervisor on SMP projects.
• Strong experience managing and coordinating multiple work crews and subcontractors.
• Excellent client-facing and communication skills, with the ability to represent Decus professionally at all levels.
• Schedule 26 qualification and experience.
• Strong leadership, organisational and people-management skills.
• Relevant trade, engineering or construction qualifications will be highly regarded.
