CGC Recruitment is seeking an experienced SMP Superintendent for an ongoing opportunity on a major mining and resources project in Western Australia.
 
Working as part of an integrated Owner's Team, you will play a key role in overseeing the delivery of structural, mechanical and piping (SMP) works across a long-term project portfolio. The scope includes mine expansion works and process plant construction, making this an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in major resources projects.
 
Our client is an established engineering and project delivery business providing specialist services to the mining and resources sector, working collaboratively with asset owners, EPCM teams and construction contractors to deliver complex projects.
 
We are particularly interested in candidates who bring a combination of owner-side project experience and hands-on construction delivery experience with principal contractors.
 
The Opportunity

• Casual contract with ongoing work across a two-year project.
• $115-$120 per hour + super, negotiable depending on experience.
• FIFO from Perth on a 2:1 roster.
• Work within an integrated Owner's Team environment.
• Exposure to mine expansion works and process plant construction.
• Opportunity to contribute to the safe and effective delivery of major SMP packages.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the delivery of structural, mechanical and piping construction activities across designated project work fronts.
• Coordinate principal contractors, subcontractors, supervisors and other project stakeholders.
• Monitor construction progress against project schedules, budgets, quality requirements and performance targets.
• Ensure works are completed in accordance with project specifications, engineering drawings, safety standards and relevant procedures.
• Drive safety, quality, productivity and construction readiness across all SMP activities.
• Work collaboratively with the Owner's Team, engineering, project controls and construction delivery teams.
• Identify and resolve construction issues, manage interfaces and escalate risks that may impact project delivery.
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure work is delivered in line with project expectations.

Skills & Experience
To be considered, you will demonstrate:

• Proven experience as an SMP Superintendent on mining and resources projects in Western Australia.
• Previous FIFO experience within the WA mining and resources sector.
• Experience delivering major mine expansion projects, process plant construction or similar large-scale resources infrastructure.
• A combination of client-side/Owner's Team experience and construction delivery experience working for principal contractors.
• Strong knowledge of structural, mechanical and piping installation, construction sequencing and contractor management.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple work fronts and drive safe, productive construction outcomes.
• Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Current S26 appointment.
• Full Australian working rights.
