SMT Maintenance Supervisor

Our client is a European-headquartered global Tier-1 automotive technology supplier and a long-standing partner to the world’s leading carmakers and new mobility players. Its Chonburi plant manufactures automotive electronics for driving assistance and in-cabin comfort systems  including parking and ADAS sensors, camera modules, electronic control units and interior control panels — built on high-volume, high-mix SMT/PCBA lines to strict automotive quality standards (IATF 16949). The SMT Maintenance Supervisor leads the maintenance team supporting the SMT/PCBA lines and their automated equipment. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the role owns preventive maintenance standards, equipment reliability and maintenance KPIs (TRP, breakdown rate, MTTR, MTBF), and drives troubleshooting, spare-parts strategy and new equipment installation to maximise line availability for production.

Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Standards

• Lead, schedule and coach maintenance technicians across shifts; perform on-the-job training on maintenance standards
• Create and update maintenance work instructions and preventive maintenance plans (with standard task times) in the CMMS / SAP PM
• Train and coach production teams on first-level (autonomous) maintenance tasks
• Ensure equipment and tooling documentation is complete and available
• Define spare-parts and maintenance material standards, stock levels and supplier sourcing together with Purchasing
• Ensure compliance with health & safety directives for equipment, buildings and installations in scope

Reliability & Continuous Improvement

• Lead action plans to improve maintenance KPIs TRP, breakdown %, micro-stoppages, technical slowdowns, MTTR and MTBF
• Improve reliability of SMT equipment and tooling (printers, SPI, pick-and-place, reflow, AOI, conveyors): obsolescence plans, back-ups and root-cause elimination of recurring breakdowns
• Lead electrical and mechanical troubleshooting on line malfunctions and support teams on major technical issues
• Drive maintenance QRQC, weekly TPM/TRP reviews and maintenance workshops; pilot PDCA, FTA and 5-Why analyses; prepare lessons-learned and Kaizen cards
• Participate in cycle-time measurement and micro-stoppage observation to improve equipment performance
• Manage installation, commissioning and safety validation of new equipment, as well as refurbishments

Maintenance Organisation & Cost

• Build team know-how in debugging and troubleshooting; capture and share lessons learned.
• Drive effective use of SAP PM / CMMS and support its continued roll-out.
• Prepare the maintenance budget and lead total maintenance cost reduction; support annual contracts for critical spare parts and overheads.
• Ensure accurate maintenance records and contribute to EHS and productivity improvement activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or Automation Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of equipment maintenance experience in SMT / electronics manufacturing, including at least 2 years leading a maintenance team (automotive electronics strongly preferred)
• Hands-on troubleshooting of SMT equipment and automated lines; solid PLC, automation and industrial network knowledge
• Electrical maintenance experience is an advantage; pneumatic/hydraulic maintenance preferred
• Practical experience with TPM, preventive/predictive maintenance and KPIs (MTTR, MTBF, OEE/TRP); SAP PM or CMMS experience preferred
• Structured problem-solving (5-Why, PDCA, FTA) and good leadership and communication skills
• Good command of English; Thai native or fluent. Able to work at Amata City Chonburi
