What they need
Build your Career with an Employee-Owned Company
Your attention to detail could be the start of a rewarding career in electronics manufacturing. At EDM, you’ll learn to operate SMT equipment, work alongside an experienced team, and help produce high-quality electronic assemblies.
You do not need to know everything on day one. We are looking for someone who is dependable, eager to learn, comfortable working with technology, and willing to speak up when something does not look right.
EDM is a 100% employee-owned company, which means our employee-owners do more than help build great products. They help build the value of a company they collectively own. After meeting eligibility requirements, employees receive shares through our ESOP at no cost to them, creating an additional retirement benefit that can grow alongside the company. Here, your ideas, effort, and commitment directly contribute to our shared success. If you want more than just a paycheck and are looking for a place where you can grow your skills, make a meaningful impact, and share in the value you help create, we want to meet you.
What You’ll Do
As an SMT Machine Operator, you will set up and operate automated equipment that places electronic components onto circuit boards. You will monitor the process, check for quality, and work with the SMT team to keep production moving efficiently.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Setting up and operating SMT production equipment
- Loading components, feeders, solder paste, and other production materials
- Performing equipment changeovers for different products
- Verifying component placement, polarity, counts, and machine settings
- Inspecting circuit boards before and after reflow
- Replenishing materials and responding to equipment needs during production
- Completing production checklists and maintaining accurate notes
- Communicating equipment, material, or quality concerns to the appropriate team members
- Keeping equipment, tooling, and production areas clean and organized
- Helping move completed products to the next step in the manufacturing process
You May Be a Great Fit If You:
- Take pride in producing accurate, high-quality work
- Notice small details that others may miss
- Are dependable and arrive ready to contribute
- Work with a sense of urgency while still protecting quality
- Enjoy learning how machines and processes work
- Communicate clearly and ask questions when needed
- Are comfortable using computers and production technology
- Support your teammates and step in where help is needed
- Can follow detailed procedures consistently
- Are comfortable standing for extended periods and performing repetitive motions
A high school diploma is required. Previous machine-operation, manufacturing, or electronics experience is helpful, but we also value a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and willingness to learn.
