Position Summary

Profab Electronics, Inc is seeking a highly skilled, dependable, and detail-oriented SMT Technician to join our Production / Operations team. The ideal candidate will be able to work with great concentration and precision, possess strong mechanical aptitude, and have a keen eye for detail.

The SMT Technician will be responsible for programming, setting up, operating, adjusting, and monitoring SMT equipment to ensure electronic circuit assemblies are produced accurately and efficiently. The goal of this position is to produce high-quality products while maintaining customer specifications, industry standards, and company quality requirements .

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, troubleshoot, and perform preventative maintenance on SMT equipment.
• Program, set up, and adjust SMT machines, including feeder loading and changing.
• Follow the proper sequence of events for SMT production processes.
• Perform manual component placement and inspection.
• Monitor machines and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.
• Perform quality inspections to ensure products meet customer specifications and industry standards.
• Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure proper functionality.
• Follow standard operating procedures, safety requirements, and PPE guidelines.
• Read and understand bills of materials (BOMs), assembly drawings, and process documentation.
• Demonstrate strong organizational, time-management, attention-to-detail, and problem-solving skills.

Required Qualifications

• Applicants must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident).
• Experience with SMT machine setup, programming, feeder loading, and adjustments.
• Knowledge of electronic components, PCB assemblies, and SMT processes.
• Ability to read and understand bills of materials (BOMs) and assembly drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
• Basic to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office and company-specific software.
• Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
