SMT Technician (Fresh Graduate)

Key Responsibilities

• Operate SMT production equipment, including solder paste printers, pick-and-place machines, SPI, reflow ovens, and AOI machines.
• Assist with machine setup, product changeover, feeder preparation, component loading, and program selection.
• Monitor machine performance and production output to ensure smooth operation.
• Carry out first-level troubleshooting for machine alarms, component errors, placement issues, and other minor technical problems.
• Escalate complex machine or process issues to the SMT Engineer or Production Supervisor.
• Perform routine machine cleaning, inspection, and basic preventive maintenance according to the maintenance schedule.
• Verify materials, components, PCB models, and work instructions before starting production.
• Check production quality and report defects such as component misalignment, missing components, solder defects, or incorrect polarity.
• Complete production, machine, maintenance, and quality records accurately.
• Follow work instructions, standard operating procedures, ESD controls, safety requirements, and cleanroom practices.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper housekeeping within the SMT production area.
• Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance teams to achieve production and quality targets.
• Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor or management.

Candidate Requirements

• Certificate or Diploma in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or another related technical field.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• No previous SMT experience is required; training will be provided.
• Basic knowledge of electronic components, PCB assembly, machinery, or manufacturing processes is an advantage.
• Willing to learn SMT machine operation, setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Responsible, hardworking, disciplined, and attentive to detail.
• Possess basic problem-solving and technical skills.
• Able to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Able to communicate in Bahasa Malaysia or English. Mandarin communication skills will be an advantage when coordinating with the technical team.
• Willing to work overtime, weekends, or shifts when required.
• Candidates with internship, workshop, machine operation, or hands-on technical experience will have an added advantage.
