What they need
Job Overview
LVM Landscaping & Snow Removal is hiring dependable Snow Removal Technicians for the upcoming 2026/27 winter season.
This is a physically demanding, outdoor winter position. Our crews are responsible for clearing snow and ice from residential and commercial properties throughout Saskatoon following snowfall events.
Please read the schedule requirements carefully before applying.
Our snow crews typically start at 5:00 AM, and shifts can be long depending on snowfall. Snow does not follow a Monday-to-Friday schedule, so applicants must be available for early mornings, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts when weather requires it.
Reliability is extremely important. When it snows, our customers are counting on us and every member of the crew is expected to show up on time and ready to work.
What You'll Be Doing
- Clearing residential and commercial sidewalks, walkways, entrances and other designated areas
- Operating commercial snow blowers and other snow removal equipment
- Performing manual snow clearing with shovels and hand tools
- Applying ice melt and other ice-control products as directed
- Loading/unloading equipment and preparing trucks and trailers for routes
- Working efficiently as part of a snow removal crew
- Completing properties thoroughly and maintaining LVM's quality standards
- Identifying icy or hazardous areas and addressing them appropriately
- Performing basic inspections and care of snow removal equipment
- Working outdoors for extended periods in snow, wind and very cold temperatures
Schedule & Availability — Please Read
This is not a standard 9-to-5 position.
Snowfall determines our schedule. During snow events, employees must be prepared for:
- 5:00 AM start times
- Long shifts during major snowfalls
- Early mornings and occasional overnight work
- Weekend and holiday work when snowfall occurs
- Short-notice schedule changes due to weather
- Consecutive snow days during larger or prolonged storms
If you regularly have difficulty getting to work early, have limited winter availability, or cannot reliably report for scheduled snow shifts, this position will not be a good fit.
What We're Looking For
Previous snow removal or landscaping experience is an asset, but reliability, work ethic and attitude are more important.
Successful applicants should:
- Be extremely dependable and punctual
- Be physically capable of shovelling and operating a snow blower for extended periods
- Be comfortable working outside in Saskatchewan winter conditions
- Be capable of lifting approximately 50 lbs
- Be willing to work long and physically demanding shifts when required
- Be able to follow directions and work efficiently with a crew
- Have reliable transportation to arrive for 5:00 AM shifts
- Take pride in completing properties properly rather than rushing through them
- Work safely around vehicles, equipment, customers and other crew members
A valid driver's licence and experience operating trucks, skid steers, loaders or other snow equipment are strong assets. Please include any relevant equipment experience in your application.
What We Offer
LVM operates professional snow removal routes throughout Saskatoon and provides employees with the equipment and training needed to perform the job safely and efficiently.
This is a great winter position for someone who enjoys physical work, doesn't mind early mornings, and wants the opportunity to work substantial hours when the snow arrives.
Winter Season: Approximately November through March
