Snow School Instructor - Level 1

Responsibilities

• Being flexible and helping out across multiple departments
• Checking in/out with supervisors
• Understanding and delivering the snow school on-snow product
• Assisting in operational support of resort operations as required
• Continually Improving own technical skills to better serve guests
• Arriving in a timely manner for your daily lesson, ready to teach
• Conducting safe, fun and technical lessons to all ages and abilities
• Managing splits in ability levels and a variety of group dynamics
• Be polite, patient, understanding, empathetic and have a positive attitude
• Helping to create amazing guest experiences
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Passion for the ski industry and culture
• A sense of teamwork and community
• MUST Hold the following certifications: PSIC/CSIA/CASI – Level 1 (or international equivalent)
• CAA AST - is considered an asset
• Additional certifications such as Park, Big Mountain or Freestyle are considered an asset

Work Experience

• Experience teaching in an alpine environment similar to Castle Mountain an asset
• Prior food & beverage, lift or guest facing experience an asset

Where We Are

Castle Mountain Resort is located at the end of Highway 774, near Pincher Creek, AB. This is a remote work location. There is a communal living Staff Accommodation building on-site for new and returning seasonal employees. More information on our location and our resort can be found at skicastle.ca

Work Conditions

• Strong skiing/snowboarding ability
• Physically fit and able to instruct in a variety of weather conditions
• Comfortable interacting with guests of different ages in a variety of instructing situations

Eligibility Statement

• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada (December through to April)
• Ability to obtain a clear Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check
