Snow Shoveler

Responsibilities

• Safely operate snow shovels, snow blowers, and other ground maintenance equipment to clear snow from designated outdoor areas
• Remove snow and ice from walkways, driveways, stairs, and parking lots promptly and efficiently
• Apply salt or de-icing materials to prevent ice formation and ensure safety in icy conditions
• Conduct inspections of outdoor pathways to identify hazardous icy patches or obstructions
• Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent slips, trips, and falls during snow removal activities
• Communicate with team members regarding weather conditions or equipment needs for efficient snow clearing
• Maintain cleanliness of tools and equipment after use to ensure longevity and readiness for future shifts

Requirements

• Prior outdoor work experience preferred, especially in winter conditions or grounds maintenance roles
• Mechanical knowledge of snow removal equipment such as shovels, snow blowers, and salt spreaders is advantageous
• Familiarity with landscape maintenance, groundskeeping, or landscaping practices is a plus
• Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively in outdoor environments
• Knowledge of safety protocols related to outdoor winter work is essential
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify hazards like icy patches or obstructions
• Physical stamina to perform manual labor in cold weather conditions for extended periods
• Basic understanding of plant identification, horticulture, irrigation systems, or tree care is beneficial but not required
