About the Role
We’re seeking a hands-on Snowflake Data Architect to shape the data architecture supporting analytics, reporting, and AI applications. You’ll define how data is integrated, modeled, governed, and made available across the organization, while guiding engineering teams through implementation.
This role combines architecture ownership with practical delivery. You’ll work closely with Growth analytics teams, data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable, reliable data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Architecture: Design Snowflake-based architectures covering ingestion, storage, transformation, and consumption. Define reusable patterns that support growing data volumes and evolving business needs.
- Data Modeling: Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models, including dimensional models and shared analytical datasets. Establish modeling standards for Snowflake and dbt.
- Source Integration: Define integration approaches for databases, APIs, and file-based sources, including incremental loading, change data capture, schema evolution, and historical tracking.
- Performance & Cost: Guide Snowflake warehouse design, workload management, query optimization, and storage strategies to balance performance and cost.
- Governance & Quality: Establish standards for access controls, data quality, validation, metadata, and lineage. Ensure sensitive data is appropriately protected.
- AI-Ready Foundations: Design governed, reusable data assets that support machine learning and AI applications, working with data scientists and AI engineers to understand their requirements.
- Technical Leadership: Review solution designs and implementation approaches, guide engineers, and resolve architectural challenges throughout delivery.
- Documentation & Collaboration: Maintain architecture diagrams, design decisions, and data definitions. Communicate recommendations clearly to technical and business stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience designing and delivering Snowflake data architectures in production.
- Advanced SQL proficiency and practical Python experience.
- Hands-on dbt experience, including modeling patterns, testing, documentation, and project structure.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and normalization techniques.
- Experience designing ETL/ELT pipelines and integrating diverse source systems.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Understanding of Snowflake security, governance, performance optimization, and cost management.
- Proficiency with Git/GitHub and collaborative deployment workflows.
- Ability to translate business requirements into architectural decisions and guide implementation.
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating with engineering, analytics, and business teams.
