Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Snowflake to design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and cloud-based data solutions. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Snowflake, SQL, Python, ETL/ELT, Data Warehousing and Data Modelling, along with exposure to cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows.
• Develop and optimize data solutions using Snowflake.
• Write complex and optimized SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
• Work with Snowflake features such as Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, Stored Procedures and Time Travel.
• Develop data transformation and ingestion processes using Python/PySpark.
• Design and implement data warehouse models, including fact and dimension tables, Star Schema and SCD.
• Perform Snowflake performance tuning, query optimization, warehouse sizing and cost optimization.
• Integrate Snowflake with various source systems, databases and cloud services.
• Implement data quality, validation, reconciliation and error-handling processes.
• Work with orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow or similar scheduling platforms.
• Collaborate with Data Architects, Business Analysts, Developers and other stakeholders to understand requirements.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide root-cause analysis and permanent solutions.
• Follow best practices for data security, governance, access control and data management.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment and Agile development activities.

Mandatory Skills

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake.
• Strong proficiency in SQL.
• Experience in ETL/ELT pipeline development.
• Strong understanding of Data Warehousing and Data Modelling.
• Good programming experience in Python.
• Experience with Snowflake SQL / SnowSQL.
• Experience with Snowpipe, Streams and Tasks.
• Experience working with large datasets and complex data transformations.
• Good understanding of database concepts and performance optimization.
• Experience with Git/version control.

Good to Have

• Experience with dbt.
• Experience with Apache Airflow or other orchestration tools.
• Experience with AWS / Azure / GCP.
• AWS services such as S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift.
• Azure services such as ADLS, Azure Data Factory and Blob Storage.
• Experience with PySpark / Apache Spark.
• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Exposure to Snowflake migration projects.
• Snowflake certification / SnowPro Certification is an added advantage.
