Snowflake Data Warehouse Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Snowflake Data Warehouse professional with strong expertise in Snowflake infrastructure, administration, security, performance, and cost optimization. The role will be responsible for configuring, deploying, monitoring, and maintaining Snowflake environments, while ensuring scalability, security, reliability, and efficient resource utilization. The successful candidate will also collaborate closely with data engineers, data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Configure, deploy, and maintain Snowflake accounts, virtual warehouses, databases, and schemas.
• Manage Snowflake resources including roles, users, warehouses, and databases.
• Manage Snowflake releases, features, and account-level configurations.
• Evaluate and enable new Snowflake capabilities as required.
• Use Terraform to provision and manage Snowflake resources and associated cloud infrastructure.
• Apply Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to ensure consistent, repeatable, and scalable deployments.
• Monitor Snowflake warehouse performance, query performance, and resource utilization.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and provide query and workload optimization recommendations.
• Optimize warehouse sizing, auto-suspend/resume, and query design for performance and cost efficiency.
• Monitor platform costs, including Snowflake credit usage and storage costs, and optimize workloads to control expenses.

About you

• 3–5+ years of relevant experience in Snowflake, Data Warehousing, or related technology.
• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake Infrastructure.
• Experience administering Snowflake accounts, virtual warehouses, databases, schemas, roles, and users.
• Strong understanding of Snowflake performance monitoring and optimization.
• Experience with RBAC, data security, and governance in Snowflake.
• Experience managing Snowflake resource utilization and costs.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with cloud-based data platforms and data warehouse environments.
• Terraform / Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience is good to have.
• Databricks experience is good to have.
