What they need

SOC Manager

About the Role
JG Security is an energy services company providing security operations support to construction job sites. We’re hiring a SOC Manager to take full ownership of our Security Operations Center. This person will own the SOC’s people, processes, and performance, and make it better every month.

This is a leadership role for someone who sees problems before they happen, builds systems to prevent them, and takes pride in running a tight operation. You’ll lead a team of SOC Operators, work a scheduled shift within the SOC, and serve as the link between the command center and the rest of our operations team.

What You’ll Own

  • The SOC team: Lead, direct, and develop the SOC Operators. Build and manage the 24/7 schedule, handle call-outs and coverage, and hold the team to a high standard
  • Cross-shift communication: Keep a four-person team aligned across day and night shifts. Set up shift handoffs, pass along priorities and updates, and make sure every operator works from the same information and standards, whether or not they share a shift with you
  • Field guard communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for our security guards in the field. Escalate issues spotted on camera directly with the guard on site, coach guards whose daily reports or incident reports fall short of our standards, and handle customer calls that come directly into the SOC
  • Process improvement: Evaluate how the SOC operates today and find better ways to do it. Write, implement, and maintain SOPs for monitoring, incident response, escalation, dispatch, and reporting
  • Efficiency: Bring forward ideas to improve how we use our VMS, ERP, and reporting tools, reduce wasted effort, and get more value from the technology we already have
  • Prevention: Spot patterns in alarms, incidents, guard performance, and equipment issues, and fix problems before they turn into customer issues
  • Training: Develop and deliver training for new and existing operators, and roll out new procedures and tools across the team
  • Quality control: Review incident reports, daily logs, and field guard QC checks for accuracy and consistency across all shifts
  • Hiring and performance: Interview candidates, make hiring recommendations, conduct performance reviews, and recommend discipline or termination when needed
  • Operations support: Partner with the broader operations team on site launches, equipment issues, customer escalations, and anything else that crosses between the SOC and the field
  • Escalations: Serve as the point of contact for serious incidents, customer concerns, and law enforcement coordination across all shifts

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a SOC, GSOC, dispatch, or 911/emergency communications environment
  • 1+ year of experience leading or supervising a team
  • A track record of improving processes, not just following them
  • Strong computer skills; comfortable across multiple software platforms and monitor displays
  • Clear, professional phone and written communication, including the ability to give direct feedback to field personnel and speak with customers
  • Ability to lead and communicate with team members on different shifts, including people you may rarely work alongside in person
  • Sound judgment and the ability to make decisions independently
  • Highly organized, with strong attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with video management software (e.g., Milestone, Genetec, Avigilon, or similar)
  • Experience with CRM or ERP systems
  • Experience writing SOPs, building training programs, or leading operational change

Schedule and Compensation
This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position at $55,000 per year, reporting to the COO. The role includes a set schedule of 12-hour shifts within the SOC, with flexibility to support operational needs as they arise.

Benefits

  • Paid time off
  • Parental leave
  • Company health insurance plan when available

Pay: $55,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Paid time off

Work Location: In person
