Social Connection Manager

Use your skills to help reduce social isolation and loneliness for older New Zealanders

Age Concern New Zealand is looking for an experienced programme manager to support and develop the capacity of national and local services to build and strengthen social connection. Overseeing the national Visiting Service contract, you will support local Age Concerns to deliver a service in their communities by providing resources and training that make a difference on the frontline.

This is a varied role for someone who enjoys combining relationship building, training, quality practice, research and finding ways to communicate key information internally and externally. One day you may be delivering peer support meetings, one-to-one training, supporting a quality review; the next, you could be contributing to a national conversation on the impacts of social isolation and loneliness or preparing reports for key stakeholders.

At the heart of it all is an important purpose: promoting the wellbeing, rights, respect and dignity of older people across Aotearoa New Zealand.

The opportunity
Working closely with the team at ACNZ, you will help support the work of local Age Concerns in their communities as they focus on building social connection. 

Your role will include:

• Meeting the deliverables of the national contract for the Age Concern Visiting Service
• Maintaining and developing training material and resources
• Facilitating and supporting peer meetings, group training and one to one training and support of local teams
• Oversight of the Visiting Service functions within the national CRM
• Contributing to public and professional debate on social isolation and loneliness and maintaining an overview of research and interventions
• Contributing to the wider work of Age Concern New Zealand

What we’re looking for:
We’re looking for someone who combines excellent relationship management with experience in programme and contract delivery.  You will bring relevant training and resource development capability and an ability to interpret research and communicate it clearly to different audiences.

You’ll ideally bring:

• A relevant qualification in an allied field (health/social service)
• Experience in delivering community health or social services
• Experience in contract delivery and reporting
• Training and service development experience
• Strong writing and analysis skills
• Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills
• Experience working with a CRM; Salesforce experience would be an advantage
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills
• Initiative, creativity and the confidence to identify and pursue new opportunities

Most importantly, you’ll be someone who enjoys making a difference. You’ll be comfortable working independently, while also being a collaborative member of a close-knit team.
