Social Host

Overview

We are seeking a friendly, outgoing, and dependable Social Host to join our hotel team. The Social Host is responsible for preparing, serving, maintaining, and cleaning up our evening Social while creating a welcoming atmosphere for hotel guests.

This position involves food preparation and service as well as serving alcoholic beverages, so candidates must be at least 19 years of age and meet all applicable requirements for alcohol service.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up food, beverages, and serving areas for the evening Social
• Greet guests warmly and create a friendly, welcoming atmosphere
• Serve food and beverages according to hotel standards
• Serve alcoholic beverages responsibly and in accordance with applicable laws and hotel policies
• Verify identification when required for alcohol service
• Monitor food and beverage stations throughout the Social and replenish items as needed
• Maintain appropriate food temperatures and follow proper food-handling procedures
• Rotate, label, date, and properly store food products
• Maintain a clean and organized food preparation and serving area
• Clean and sanitize tables, counters, equipment, and work areas throughout the shift
• Wash dishes, utensils, serving pieces, and food-preparation items
• Keep food, beverage, and service supplies properly stocked
• Monitor inventory and communicate supply needs to management
• Break down and thoroughly clean the Social area following service
• Sweep, mop, remove trash, and complete general cleanup duties
• Assist with keeping the lobby and surrounding public areas clean and presentable
• Follow all hotel food safety, sanitation, alcohol service, OSHA, and chemical-handling procedures
• Provide excellent guest service and respond professionally to guest questions and requests
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements & Qualifications

• Must be 19 years of age or older to serve alcoholic beverages
• Food Certification Training provided
• Must obtain and/or maintain any required alcohol server training or certification
• Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable interacting with hotel guests
• Dependable and punctual
• Strong attention to cleanliness and food presentation
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Previous food service, hospitality, restaurant, or customer service experience is preferred
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to bend, reach, lift, carry, push, and pull supplies as needed
• Must be comfortable working around food, cleaning products, and kitchen equipment

Schedule

Part-Time Positions Available
4:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Candidates must have reliable evening availability. Weekend and holiday availability may be required based on hotel occupancy and business needs.

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 – 40.0 per week
