What they need

Social Media Coordinator

The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for bringing the Los Angeles Ale Works brand to life across social media. This role plans and creates engaging content, manages day-to-day publishing and community interaction, and captures the beer, food, events, people, and atmosphere that make each LAAW location distinctive.

The right candidate is creative, organized, comfortable working independently, and energized by being on-site. This person will work closely with our taprooms, brewery, kitchen, events, and leadership teams to maintain a consistent content calendar and timely social presence. This is a social-media-first position; broader marketing projects, may be supported as needed but are not the primary focus of the role. Candidates must share our commitment to quality, craftsmanship, creativity, and authenticity.

The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about beer, hospitality, Los Angeles culture, social media scheduling platforms, and have experience in project management, writing, photography, and video.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Plan and maintain a consistent social media content calendar aligned with beer releases, food specials, events, collaborations, and beer production.

● Create original photography, short-form video, Stories, Reels, captions, and other platform-specific content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and emerging channels.

● Visit Los Angeles Ale Works locations regularly to gain an understanding of the location and capture authentic, timely content featuring products, guests, employees, events, and behind-the-scenes activity.

● Schedule and publish content while maintaining a consistent brand voice, visual style, and level of quality across platforms.

● Monitor comments, messages, tags, reviews, and user-generated content; respond or route issues to the appropriate team in a timely and professional manner.

● Build community engagement by identifying relevant local conversations, partners, creators, organizations, and cross-promotional opportunities.

● Coordinate with internal teams to gather accurate information, assets, dates, and priorities for upcoming posts and event coverage.

● Create simple digital graphics and promotional assets for social media using Canva or Adobe.

● Track platform performance and provide clear, practical reporting on reach, engagement, audience growth, and content performance.

● Use performance insights and platform trends to recommend content improvements and test new formats or ideas.

● Maintain an organized library of approved photos, videos, graphics, and reusable content.

● Provide support for related digital and in-store promotional needs when they directly support social campaigns, beer releases, or events.

● Manage time independently with the ability to toggle between daily and long-term tasks, keeping workstreams moving forward simultaneously.

● Maintain open lines of communication, patience and professionalism when partnering with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced evolving environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

● One to three years of experience managing social media or creating content for a hospitality, food and beverage, lifestyle, entertainment, or consumer brand.

● Strong working knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Google Business, and common social scheduling and reporting tools.

● Demonstrated photography, short-form video, editing, and copywriting skills; a portfolio or examples of past work are preferred.

● Proficiency with Canva; working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, or similar tools.

● Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage a content calendar, multiple locations, and quick-turn requests.

● Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

● Sound judgment when representing a brand publicly and responding to guests online.

● Self-motivated, social, dependable, and comfortable taking initiative while remaining open to feedback.

● A degree in communications, media, marketing, journalism, or a related field is preferred but not required.

● Flexibility in both schedule and duties; willingness to work weekends, evenings, as needed along with traveling between our Hawthorne, Culver City and Hermosa Beach locations
