Social Media Head

Key Responsibilities

1. Social Media Strategy

• Own the overall social media vision, strategy, and operating model.
• Develop high-impact social strategies across brands, industries, and platforms.
• Push the team beyond traditional content calendars toward culture, communities, creators, trends, and platform-native storytelling.
• Build frameworks for content strategy, brand voice, audience engagement, and social growth.

2. Creative & Content Leadership

• Set the creative benchmark for the social media team.
• Drive concepts that are culturally relevant, distinctive, and commercially meaningful.
• Encourage experimentation across Reels, short-form video, creator content, UGC, influencer marketing, social campaigns, and emerging formats.
• Build a culture where ideas are challenged, tested, and improved through data.

3. Client & Business Leadership

• Act as a senior strategic partner to key clients and leadership teams.
• Lead high-value pitches, presentations, new-business opportunities, and social media solutions.
• Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts through new social offerings.
• Build scalable social media propositions that can become new revenue streams.

4. Team Leadership

• Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing social media team.
• Establish clear ownership across strategy, content, creative, account management, and execution.
• Develop senior talent and create a strong leadership pipeline within the function.
• Set performance standards and ensure accountability across the team.

5. Performance & Analytics

• Establish measurable KPIs for social media performance.
• Use platform analytics, audience insights, content performance, and business data to continuously improve strategy.
• Build dashboards and reporting systems that move beyond vanity metrics.
• Connect social performance with brand, engagement, lead-generation, and business outcomes wherever applicable.

6. Innovation & AI

• Identify and implement new-age social media technologies, AI tools, workflows, and automation.
• Explore AI-led content creation, social listening, trend intelligence, ideation, reporting, and workflow automation.
• Stay ahead of emerging platforms, formats, creator ecosystems, and changes in consumer behaviour.

7. Operational Excellence

• Build processes that allow the social media function to scale without compromising quality.
• Improve turnaround times, collaboration, quality control, and resource utilisation.
• Create strong collaboration between Social Media, Creative, Performance Marketing, Influencer Marketing, Strategy, and Business teams.

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years of experience in social media, digital marketing, creative agencies, media, or a related environment.
• Proven experience leading large social media mandates and teams.
• Strong understanding of Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, X, and emerging platforms.
• Strong strategic and creative thinking with the ability to translate ideas into execution.
• Experience managing senior stakeholders and high-value clients.
• Strong commercial understanding and exposure to pitches/new business.
• Ability to build teams, processes, and functions from the ground up.
• Strong understanding of social analytics, trends, creators, content formats, and digital culture.
• Demonstrated ability to use technology and AI to improve social media outcomes.
