We specialise in culturally competent support services for women, children, and families of Asian, African, and Middle Eastern origin, focusing on domestic/family violence intervention, prevention, and awareness. We are a national organisation with branches in Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Social Worker to join our dedicated team in Auckland. This is a role with national scope, supporting our Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch region to deliver high-quality, culturally responsive services to women and children.

About the Role

This pivotal role blends professional social work leadership with operational oversight.

You will:

• Lead, supervise, and support a team of social workers and caseworkers to deliver high-quality, client-focused advocacy and crisis response services.
• Oversee case management standards and ensure accurate documentation in EXESS.
• Actively involved in case management, providing client-centred support, advocacy, and coordination of services to meet the needs of individuals and families
• Coordinate service delivery across Crisisline, Counselling, and Refuge units to ensure seamless, holistic support for clients.
• Promote a positive, learning-oriented team culture that upholds wellbeing, safety, and reflective practice.
• Liaise and advocate with government agencies (Work and Income, Police, Housing NZ, Courts) to ensure clients receive the best outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with the National Refuge Service Delivery Manager and other regional leaders to ensure consistent, high-quality practice aligned with MSD and MOJ standards.
• Identify and manage risks, and support ongoing service improvement and audits.

About You

You will be a qualified and registered social worker with leadership experience and a passion for empowering both clients and teams.
You will bring:

• A recognised social work qualification and current SWRB registration (or eligibility for registration).
• Experience in family violence or crisis intervention settings.
• Demonstrated ability to provide supervision, mentoring, and guidance to social services staff.
• Strong understanding of case management systems (preferably EXESS) and best practice standards in social work.
• Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, both internally and externally.
• A collaborative and culturally responsive approach, with an understanding of diverse communities.
