Software Architect – AI & Python

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Software Architect with strong expertise in Python, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Generative AI to design and deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance software solutions.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining solution architecture, leading technical design decisions, establishing engineering best practices, and guiding development teams in building AI-powered applications and enterprise-grade software systems. This role requires a combination of hands-on technical expertise, architectural leadership, and the ability to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own the end-to-end architecture of software applications and AI-driven solutions.
• Design scalable, modular, secure, and maintainable applications using Python-based technologies.
• Architect AI/ML and Generative AI solutions, including LLM-powered applications, intelligent automation, and enterprise AI integrations.
• Provide technical leadership to Python developers, AI/ML engineers, data scientists, and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Evaluate and select appropriate frameworks, tools, cloud services, databases, and architectural patterns.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures, and system integrations.
• Guide the development and integration of AI models, vector databases, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, and LLM-based applications.
• Establish coding standards, design principles, documentation practices, and code review processes.
• Ensure application performance, scalability, reliability, security, and data privacy.
• Collaborate with product managers, business stakeholders, and engineering leaders to translate requirements into technical architecture.
• Drive cloud-native architecture, containerisation, CI/CD, and automated deployment practices.
• Assess emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve development efficiency and business outcomes.
• Identify technical risks, architectural bottlenecks, and opportunities for optimisation.
• Support production deployments, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and continuous architectural improvement.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 10–15 years of experience in software development, solution design, and software architecture.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Python programming and Python-based application development.
• Proven experience designing and delivering scalable enterprise software applications.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and AI-powered application architecture.
• Experience with Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
• Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks and libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, or Hugging Face.
• Experience designing REST APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and application integration solutions.
• Understanding of LLM application development, prompt engineering, RAG, embeddings, and vector databases.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, data modelling, and caching strategies.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, Git, and modern DevOps practices.
• Strong understanding of software design patterns, SOLID principles, system design, and performance optimisation.
• Excellent technical leadership, analytical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience deploying and operating AI-powered applications in production environments.
• Familiarity with MLOps, LLMOps, model monitoring, evaluation, and lifecycle management.
• Experience with vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus, or FAISS.
• Exposure to agentic AI frameworks and orchestration tools such as LangChain or LangGraph.
• Knowledge of AI security, responsible AI practices, access controls, and data governance.
• Experience designing multi-tenant, high-availability, and cloud-native enterprise platforms.
• Relevant cloud, architecture, or AI certifications are an advantage.
