Software Architect

Recommended experience: 3–8+ years in software engineering, including at least 4–6 years in architecture or technical leadership.

Essential technical experience

The candidate should demonstrate practical experience in:

• Microservices architecture.
• Distributed and high-availability systems.
• Cloud: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Clean Architecture and Hexagonal Architecture.
• Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
• Event-driven architecture and asynchronous processing.
• REST API design and integration systems.
• Scalability, performance, and resilience.
• Application and infrastructure security.
• CI/CD, DevOps, observability, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Architectural design and documentation.

Must possess sound architectural judgment and demonstrable experience designing production systems.

Experience with Artificial Intelligence — HIGHLY IMPORTANT

Must have used tools such as:

• Cursor
• Claude Code
• OpenAI Codex
• GitHub Copilot
• or other equivalent tools.

And must be able to explain how they use AI to:

• Generate code.
• Create and execute tests.
• Debug errors.
• Refactor.
• Review code.
• Generate documentation.
• Break down large projects into tasks.
• Work with coding agents.
• Create instructions/context for agents.
• Critically review AI-generated code.

Must have actual experience with AI-assisted development / agentic coding.

Technical leadership experience

Must be capable of:

• Defining architectural standards.
• Reviewing technical designs.
• Approving or challenging architectural decisions.
• Identifying risks prior to implementation.
• Reducing technical debt. •   Create reusable patterns and architectures.
• Mentor developers.
• Communicate technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders.
• Work with Product, Operations, Security, and Compliance.

English

Able to:

• Conduct technical meetings in English.
• Explain an architecture in English.
• Defend technical decisions.
• Document architecture and specifications.
• Communicate with international technical teams.

Fintech experience

Experience in:

• Payment processors.
• Banking.
• Card systems.
• Banking APIs.
• Reconciliation systems.
• Financial transactions.
• High-availability systems.
• Third-party integrations.
• Financial information security.
• Auditable systems.
