Software Architect (Mobile experience)

About the role

We are seeking a talented Software Architect (Mobile experience) to join NCS Philippines in Taguig City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial strategic role in designing and overseeing the development of mobile applications and experiences across our organisation. As a Software Architect specialising in mobile experience, you will be responsible for defining the technical direction, ensuring scalability, and driving innovation in our mobile solutions. This role is integral to our digital transformation initiatives and will have a significant impact on how our customers interact with our products and services.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop comprehensive mobile architecture strategies that align with business objectives and technical requirements
• Evaluate and select appropriate mobile technologies, frameworks, and platforms (iOS, Android, cross-platform) based on project needs and best practices
• Create detailed technical specifications, architecture documentation, and design patterns for mobile application development
• Lead and mentor development teams in implementing architectural decisions and ensuring adherence to established standards
• Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to ensure high-quality mobile solutions
• Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical architecture
• Identify and mitigate technical risks, performance bottlenecks, and security vulnerabilities in mobile applications
• Stay current with emerging mobile technologies, trends, and industry best practices to keep our solutions competitive
• Design scalable and resilient mobile backend services and APIs to support mobile applications
• Oversee mobile application lifecycle from design through deployment and maintenance

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
• Minimum 8+ years of professional experience in software development with at least 5+ years specialising in mobile application architecture
• Extensive experience architecting mobile applications for iOS, Android, or cross-platform environments
• Strong proficiency in mobile development languages and frameworks such as Swift, Kotlin, React Native, Flutter, or Xamarin
• Proven expertise in designing scalable, maintainable, and secure mobile architectures
• Deep understanding of mobile design patterns, architectural patterns (MVC, MVVM, MVP, VIPER), and best practices
• Experience with RESTful API design and integration with backend services
• Knowledge of mobile security principles, data encryption, and secure coding practices
• Proficiency in cloud platforms and mobile backend services (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically about technical solutions
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities with experience mentoring technical teams
• Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices is highly desirable
• Familiarity with mobile performance optimisation, testing frameworks, and continuous integration/deployment pipelines
• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Associate, or mobile development certifications) are advantageous
