Software Architect Technical Lead

Position Overview

The Software Architect is responsible for defining and maintaining the technical direction of software solutions, ensuring that systems are scalable, maintainable, secure, and aligned with business and client requirements.

The role combines strong software architecture expertise with elements of technical leadership and engineering management. The Software Architect works closely with clients, product managers, team leads, developers, and company management to guide technical decisions and ensure consistent delivery quality.

This is not necessarily a daily coding role, but the architect must remain technically hands-on enough to understand implementation challenges, review important design decisions, identify risks, and support engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and review software and solution architectures.
• Define technical standards, patterns, and engineering best practices.
• Identify architectural, performance, security, scalability, and maintainability risks.
• Guide teams on complex technical decisions and implementation approaches.
• Review technical debt and define improvement priorities.
• Participate in project planning, estimations, solution design, and scope assessment.
• Support Team Leads and senior engineers in technical decision-making and delivery.
• Improve development practices, including code reviews, testing, CI/CD, documentation, and deployment processes.
• Participate in client technical discussions, workshops, and escalations.
• Monitor the technical health and delivery quality of projects.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to the development of internal technical expertise.
• Support engineering management with team capacity, technical staffing, and project risk assessment.

Required Experience

The candidate should have at least 7 years of software development experience , including significant experience as a Software Architect, Solution Architect, Technical Lead, Team Lead, or similar senior technical role.

Experience delivering complex enterprise or distributed software systems is required. Experience with high-availability, regulated, security-sensitive, or business-critical systems is particularly valued.

The candidate should be comfortable leading technical discussions, challenging design decisions, providing constructive feedback, and balancing technical quality with delivery constraints and business objectives.

Technical Qualifications

Strong understanding of:

• Software and solution architecture
• Distributed systems and integration patterns
• APIs, messaging, and event-driven architectures
• Databases and data modelling
• Cloud architecture and infrastructure
• Security, scalability, performance, and reliability
• CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and production operations
• Experience with technologies such as .NET, C#, Angular, React, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Azure, Kubernetes, Kafka , or comparable technologies is an advantage.
• A degree in computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering, information technology, or a related technical field is preferred.
